World Cup Winners: Who is going to be?

Today we are gonna present the teams that are possible World Cup winners. Many good and experienced teams will face each other, but only one will be crowned world champion. But who is going to be?

1. Brazil

The host nation has the advantage of having Luiz Felipe Scolari, a man who already won a World Cup in 2002. Brazil squad is a possible World Cup winners because it has a gelled team, with many stars and talented players (Neymar, Willian, Bernard, Oscar). Moreover, Selecao team has the morale advantage after a successful Confederation Cup win against Spain (3-0). However, many specialists considered that this is the worst Brazilian team in decades and that it would be very difficult for them to become World Cup winners for the sixth time. The team has many difficulties in defense because Hulk and Neymar do not respect too many defensive responsibilities. Brazil’s main strength is represented by the force in attack, but will they be able to sustain charges and not be surprised on the counters?

2. Germany

Germany has a real chance of becoming World Cup winners for the fourth time. The Panzers have one the best goalkeepers in the world, Germany team is shaped around the country’s philosophy about perfection, having no weakness in any department. Their main strength Is represented by the midfield force. In the attack the ever green Miroslav Klose seem the World Cup goalscorer. Low managed to cover the left full back position with Borusia’s raising star Erik Durm. German national team is formed by polyvalent players.

3. Spain

Spain definitely knows how to win major trophies, winning the last 3 important ones en fanfare: EURO 2008, World Cup 2010 and EURO 2012. Vicente Del Bosque bets on his team that won all those trophies, a team formed around Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets and Sergio Ramos. However, Spain possession style can be easily impeded nowadays with agglomerate defense and fast counters (see Brazil in Confederation Cup). Moreover, Furia Roja seems to have lost some of its attacking power with Torres out of form, David Villa injury prone and Diego Costa, who still needs time to form game relationships with his teammates. Spain is one the most powerful potential World Cup winners, having a very complete team with players that can play on multiple positions.

4. Argentina

Argentina has the most experienced team that participates in 2014 World Cup 2014. With experienced players like Hugo Campagnaro (32 years old) or Maxi Rodriguez (33 years old), the youngest Argentine player is Marcos Rojo (24 years old). Pumas will bet on the attacking force in order to be the new World Cup winners. The attacking force of Messi, Di Maria, Aguero or Higuain will definitely crush some defenses. Argentina improved a lot after their loss in the last World Cup 4-0 against Germany, but the team seems to be shaped around Messi genius. So, if Messi performs well Argentina might have a real chance.

5. Italy

Squadra Azzurra team always delivered surprises and is always a genuine contender. Prandelli changed Italy’s style to a free flowing football, a wonderful combinative team that mixes Pirlo’s experience with Insigne’s exuberance. Moreover, De Rossi seemed to regained his form in the last season and might be decisive in helping Italy to become the new World Cup winners.

There some other potential Worl Cup winners like Uruguay (who bet everything on Luis Suarez, but are far from the form of the last World Cup), England (they play too cautious and have no attacking ambition), Netherlands (in front they have some very experienced players, but in the back the defense is too green – it is a team that tries to change generations), France (inconsistency is their main problem) and Portugal (the team relies too much on Cristiano Ronaldo, defensively sound, but not too many creative players to give Cristiano good chances).

The 2014 World Cup looks an extremely tough one to call, leaving us with no doubt that it could be one of the most exciting World Cups in history. The World Cup winners will be team that will be able to better manage tiredness accumulated during the season and injuries. Many individual efforts might decisive and all those teams have players certainly are one-man-show.
